Hi Adopt-A-Pet,
Here are a couple of Pictures of Teddy (fka Terry). We are working on the barking. Ignoring it, and praise when he is quiet. He does not bark at things, or the kitties, horses or people. I am sure he is telling me something and I just have not figured it out yet.
He is so silly when trying to catch bugs/skeeters flying around his head. He saw a garter snake and was fascinated... no poisonous snakes up here. The kitties have come up to sniff him and even rubbed up on him. He tries to play with them but when he bounces toward then they take off. He likes the hoof trimmings from the horses, a doggy delecacy. We played with a stick last night. Fetch part is good - bringing it back ,well, we will work on that too!
He has probably already met about a hundred people including many kids. He is great with almost all. He sucked back and away from one of my hay guys who stamped hay off his boots and then reached to pet Teddy - and elicited a smal grrr. I think the foot stomp startled him and he was grrring at that rather than the petting as he then jumped up, wagging tail, and Butch petted him seconds later. I think a man, in his past, may have grabbed at him a lot. Once in a while last week, when I reached to pet him he pulled back from me. We are working on that. He is not fearful, just self preserving, I think.
I have let Teddy drag his leash a few times between house and car. He stays right with me. Today I had a friend hold him about 80 feet from me and had her drop his leash as I called him. He came right in to me. I am not doing any serious obedience yet. Still letting him get used to the fact that he has a real home. He is eating pretty well but tends to leave his food if I walk away from him. Getting better on that too. One step at a time.
He sleeps on the bed and has learned that it is best not to be on the foot of the bed. No, I did not flip him off the bed by accident, but one night he went to the foot while I was in the bathroom (he usually follows me in there in the night) and when I got back in bed I didn't see him and plunked my feet on him.... oops. Yeah oops size 11. He now stays on the side where it is safe. He is quiet through the night and he likes the down quilt. What a good boy.
He is a joy to have.

Hello Adopt-A-Pet Friends!
Bentley and Cooper (formerly Silver and Dreamsicle) have settled in wonderfully in our home. Although they have been with us six months, they have really opened up in the last several months now that they know they are not going anywhere else. They are growing up some, although they still like to run around the house like crazy playing some exotic form of "chase" or wrestling. This was definitely a case of "two is much better than one"! They keep each other company, exercised and busy, even when we are at work. We would encourage other potential adopters to consider adopting two cats, not just one ... they will provide you with hours of laughter and hilarity (just introduce a box or two).

We are so greatful to the work of all the volunteers who saved them each when they needed it. And to those who recognized the *wierd*, loving bond these two share, even though they are not littermates. Cooper has even become brave and demands to be picked up each morning and when dinner is being prepped, whenever he and Bentley are not stalking each other. What a long way for the little orange and white kitty who hid all the time.
THANK YOU!!
Bentley, Cooper and their parents

Honey is a wonderful dog. She is such a blessing to our family. She mothers our three cats and often engages in play with them. We just adopted a 7 month old cockapoo which she enjoys playing with. She is very gentle with my children. Honey is a perfect name for her because it is exactly her personality, "a real honey".
We are so glad she picked us on adoption day back in February 2005 and we all cannot imagine what our lives would be without her. We love her to pieces.

We’re settling in and getting into a routine, I’m loving every minute with them.
Purdy has been renamed Fergie which she responded to immediately.

She loves being in the yard, she’s started a game of hide and seek, using the evergreen bushes in the back yard and jumping out at either Jake or I as we walk by. She is able to fall asleep anywhere!
They both enjoy being outside and have met the next door neighbor(s) dogs and cat. Jake likes to shout at the cat, the cat ignores him.

They’ve met their ‘new cousin’ Callie (my son’s 1 ˝ year old lab mix) – they all got along very well and will get to know each other better in October when Callie comes to stay for a week while they are on vacation.
I enjoy having them in my life, and can’t believe my good fortune in how wonderful they are. I’m grateful to have them, and they both will be well loved for the rest of their lives….Thank you for keeping the animals you have in foster care – the transition has been very easy, they didn’t lose any of their training. They are a joy to have.
