Meet Kasey! A smart, affectionate, female Plott Hound (mix?) with the most adorable velvety ears and an awesomely beautiful smooth brindle coat. Kasey loves everyone she meets. She is self-assured and friendly with other dogs, so she would make a great younger sister to your resident dog, although she is also very people-oriented so would be fine as an "only child" to someone who just wants one faithful companion. She is fine with the cat in her foster home. Kasey is true to her breed in that she has an amazing nose for scent. It makes her very food motivated and easy to train. Plotts are known for their willingness to please and their loyalty.
In general, Plotts are easy keepers, but if let off leash must have a securely fenced yard. They need canine or human companionship and an opportunity to exercise outdoors in play or on well-supervised hikes. They are athletic dogs that make great jogging partners, are good candidates to participate in tracking and other dog sports, and they usually enjoy swimming.
Casey came from a Kentucky pound without a lot of history as she was an unclaimed stray. We suspect that Kasey hadn't lived inside a home, so everything is new to her. Her foster mom says she is making great progress on her indoor manners and her favorite pastime is snuggling on the couch to watch tv. Kasey learns quickly and has a high desire to please. She has a large personality and lives life with gusto!
Kasey is tall and lean and weighs in at 49 pounds; we believe she is only about one year old, so she is full grown. She will make a great pet to the person or family that is ready to continue with her training and provide her with lots of love, adequate exercise, and plenty of attention.
Kasey's adoption fee of $395 includes: vet exam, heartworm test, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination), bordetella vaccination, rabies vaccination, flea/tick preventative, deworming, heartworm preventative, microchip and spay.
