Rusty is a young male terrier mix who will make you laugh! His personality lights up a room. Rusty never has a bad day and wants to make sure the people around him have good days too. Rusty is truly a best friend - he loves to be talked to and it seems like he truly understands. Rusty is a smart dog with a zest for life who always tries to do the right thing.
Rusty loves everyone and meeting new people is his specialty. Rusty enjoys meeting new dogs too (even crabby ones). He will raz it up with anyone - a good game of tug is his favorite. While he likes cats, they can sometimes scare him.
Found wandering in rural Southern Illinois and never claimed, their loss can be YOUR gain! Even though we think Rusty was on his own for awhile, he easily adjusted to living in his foster home. Learning indoor manners has come easily to Rusty as he desires very much to please his people. Doing the right thing is super important to Rusty and he revels in being told he is a good boy. It’s been easy for his foster family to get attached to Rusty because he is just simply a fabulous guy.
Rusty is almost completely potty trained (we don’t think he ever lived inside so he just needed to learn good potty habits). Rusty has learned sit/stay commands in his foster home and his recall is amazing. Rusty sleeps without fuss in his crate at night and when necessary, will go into his crate during the day.
If you are looking for an easy going, affectionate, smart dog, Rusty is your guy!
